Mar Chao López, new commercial director of Valenciaport

Valenciaport new Commercial DirectorValencia, September the 27th 2017. – Mar Chao López will be the new commercial and business development director of the Port Authority of Valencia (PAV). This designation has taken place after an open selection process in which more than 20 professionals of wide experience of different nationalities have participated.

Mar Chao López is a road, channels and ports engineer by the University of A Coruña and holds a degree in Law from Universitat Oberta de Catalunya. She holds an MBA from the Caixanova business school (now, IESIDE) and has completed her training with numerous degrees in maritime law and logistics. Among them are the Maritime Law and Port Management by the University of A Coruña; Maritime Transport and Port Management by the Polytechnic University of Madrid, Logistics Management by Lloyd’s Academy London; and Manager of Transport of Goods and Travelers by the European Community. She speaks English, French, Galician and Portuguese and currently teaches the Master in Logistics and Transport of the University of A Coruña.

Since its inception in 1991, Mar Chao López has developed her work in the field of logistics in both public and private sectors. So far, she was the general manager of the Reyser group. In the public sector, she has worked for the Port Authority of A Coruña, as head of service provision unit; and at the Port Authority of Vigo, as head of port operations division and the operating department. Between December of 2006 and March of 2009, Chao was the CEO of transports of the Xunta de Galicia, being adviser in the Port Authority of Ferrol and assuming the presidency of Ports of Galicia.
