stx france   STX France disposes STX France Lorient, the subsidiary that operates the shipyard in Lanester, to Kership, the joint venture established in 2013 by the French group Piriou and DCNS, active respectively in the fields of civil and military shipbuilding. It is expected that the transaction will be completed during the autumn.

Recalling that the shipyard in Lanester was previously specialized in the construction of vessels of up to 100 meters, STX France has recently explained that the plant had a firm accused of doing business because the most recent orders of the French ships were acquired by competitors Piriou and Kership, resulting in the recording of economic losses that have threatened the survival of the yard. Following this crisis STX France has decided to focus the activities of the yard of Lanester on the implementation of elements for marine structures, reorganization that involved cutting 47 jobs. The French group has decided to sell the site favoring the offer of Kership than that presented by the French shipbuilding company CMN.
